I've been really down on 2003 - hopefully this will make me feel like it wasn't all that bad or it may make me run screaming into 2004

2003: a retrospective

1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
gave up

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I kept it but recently have fallen off the diet and healthy exercise routine.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not yet

4. Did anyone close to you die?

5. What countries did you visit?

6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
A little more financial stability (on my part anyway)Maybe I should stop buying yarn and rovings

7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Oct 31 - sold the truck, on my way to financial stability?

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I survived and still got my bills paid down!

9. What was your biggest failure?
I didn't get to keep my truck in the bargain of keeping my head above water

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I've recently had the flu but I had seriously hurt back this spring (I actually thought of going to the doctor because of it)

11. What was the best thing you bought?
hmmm. A new setup for my pottery shows.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Moira's - sometimes.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
It fluctuates

14. Where did most of your money go?
My truck ate most of it until Nov. since then its been bills and yarn and special little xmas goodies and lots of food!

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Spinning yarn and possibly joining a group of ladies to learn more about it (even though it is a 1 hour drive to meet up with them)

16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
the Ramones selling out to a cellphone provider - that song will remind me of the year of the sellout.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? same
ii. thinner or fatter? fatter
iii. richer or poorer? rich in love (corny but true), poor in finances

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Running around from relatives to relatives spreading good cheer!

22. Did you fall in love in 2003?
Naw, been there for a while

23. How many one-night stands?
None yet (haha)

24. What was your favorite TV program?
I don't watch much TV but whenever I think of tv I think Simpsons.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I try not to actually "HATE" anyone but I do still strongly dislike some of my mom's siblings more and more every year. Oh, and I did add one of my cousins to that list. Why can't people be nice and decent.

26. What was the best book you read?
hmm, I enjoyed reading the LOTR series, I re-read "little women" and "the Jungle" which will always be favorites (I think that's why I keep reading them again and again)

Dropkick Murphy's, there are a few otheres, but thats the one that I couldn't believe I hadn't paid attention to as it really wasn't obscure.

My birthday isn't until the 30th - but I doubt I will do anything different than the usual .

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Being able to spend time with my family without having to worry about working my ass off and try to scrape up money. More outdoor hiking and family field trips. I need to be outside more.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
I think I fell deeper into the "punk" look (although isn't everything punk look these days) Maybe its the rest of the world that started to dress mroe punky?

34. What kept you sane?
Forcing myself to relax and knit more.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
No one really

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
hmmm - the war was pretty big and dominated the first half of the year and then the last half has really been about gay rights (not just marriage but how in many states if you are gay then you have less rights it seems and this state is one that seems to have a hard time with that)

37. Who did you miss?
My friends in CA (Kent, Martin, Scott, Luz) and Sara in Sweden.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
the only new people I've really met and became at least partially acquanted with were on the internet and I've met so many interesting people here.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003
Put things down and go do something relaxing, you'll feel better.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year
One couldn't possibly sum it up

Hmmm - didn't do anything for me one way or the other.
